Mimosas and Me!

Since Spring and Fall had a love child I don’t know what my attire will be from one day to the next, but what I do know is that I LOVE all things cute and drink related. So when I started seeing articles and posts about my favorite grocery chain Aldi selling bottled mimosas in orange and pineapple flavors I was confused. How did it get past me last year for the Inaugural launch? I’m in there at least once a week perusing the aisles for specialty and marked down items. And ummmm... I MISSED MIMOSAS! HOW?! HOW??! HOOOOOOOOW?! Every week I receive the circular in my mailbox and look through to check off my must haves. This has me questioning myself now. I vowed to not miss out this year though; I set a calendar reminder and alarm for April 3, 2019 at 9:00am because sippin’ pretty is a must! When I arrived I went straight to the beer and wine section - not that it’s hard to do since it’s the first aisle in the store. I scanned the area and didn’t see any but proceeded to shop. I didn’t want to come off as a drunk looking for my fix early in the morning. I finally decided to ask an employee and she went to get them from the back; but not before telling me that I could only purchase two at a time and that they only had pineapple. I wanted to get one of each but it’s not that important to chase down so two pineapple will have to do. Of course I had to post on Facebook that I’ve tracked down the goods. I was summoned for a review ASAP but work said I’ll holla back the weekend. A clear schedule and weather forecast called for a small, solo ‘Balcony Antics’ brunch. On the menu was curried lamb chops, spinach and cheese egg-whites omelette, fruit medley and a bottle of $8.99 per 750ML and 8% ALC Pineapple Mimosa. Now one could argue that it’s more economical to buy pineapple juice and cheap champagne for the same price but it wouldn’t be in the pretty bottle. Yes! The bottle plays a role.... ‘ALL THINGS CUTE’ remember. I’m so happy that I didn’t hit snooze on my alarm and miss out. It has just the right amount of fizz and sweetness to complement brunch, Asian food, or a candy bar. Hopefully these bottles of sunshine become a regular and the shelves are fully stocked because first call for alcohol at 9:00am is not the move for me. Now I can’t get ‘Turn 5x times - Do not shake’ out of my head and I don’t know why. LOL! Sip on sippers!
